How it is calculated
Length, weight and volume factors here are exact definitions, not measurements. One inch is precisely 25.4 mm and one pound is precisely 0.45359237 kg, fixed by the 1959 international yard and pound agreement. They do not drift.
Data units use 1024. One kilobyte is treated as 1,024 bytes, which is how operating systems report file sizes. Storage manufacturers count a kilobyte as 1,000 bytes, which is why a drive sold as 1 TB shows up as roughly 931 GB once connected.
Temperature works differently from everything else. Other units convert by multiplication alone, but temperature scales start at different points, so conversion needs an addition as well. That is why 0°C is 32°F rather than 0°F.
US and imperial liquid measures share names but not sizes: a US gallon is about 3.785 L while an imperial gallon is about 4.546 L, nearly 20% larger. The gallon, pint and fluid ounce here are all US measures.
Two Korean units are included because they remain in everyday use. Pyeong is an area unit equal to exactly 400/121 m² (about 3.3058 m²), still standard in Korean property listings. Geun is a weight unit, taken here as 600 g.

Why does my 1 TB drive show as 931 GB?
The manufacturer counts 1 TB as one trillion bytes; the operating system counts it as 1,099,511,627,776 bytes. Same capacity, different ruler — a difference of about 7%. Nothing is wrong with the drive.

US. A US gallon is about 3.785 L against roughly 4.546 L for an imperial gallon, so the two differ by almost 20%. The pint and fluid ounce here are US measures too.
Why is temperature handled separately?
Because the scales do not share a zero point. Converting requires shifting the scale as well as stretching it, so a single multiplication factor cannot express it.
What is a pyeong?
A Korean area unit equal to exactly 400/121 square meters, about 3.3058 m². It is not an official measurement unit, but property listings and floor plans in Korea are still commonly quoted in it.
